Most impact wrenches and ratchets require between 3 and 8 CFM at 90 PSI. Add up the CFM demand of the tools you plan to run simultaneously, then choose a compressor rated at least 1.25 times that number to account for duty cycle. Running a compressor at its rated ceiling continuously shortens pump life faster than any other factor.
If your bay sees both passenger cars and light trucks or SUVs, a 12,000 lb rated two-post lift gives you the headroom to handle most of that range without straining the hydraulics. Rated capacity is a ceiling, not a target — lifting a 4,200 lb sedan on a 12,000 lb lift puts the system under far less stress than running it near its limit regularly.
If your shop is in an area where gas supply gets interrupted during storms or if you already run LPG for other equipment, dual-fuel capability removes a real logistics problem. LPG also stores longer without degrading, which matters for a generator that sits idle most of the year. If neither of those conditions applies to your operation, the gas-only unit is the simpler choice.
